Okay, I keep reading "love yourself." Which is essential in anything. But I think it needs clarification as it can be a little confusing with the wording.

1.) Love yourself - Not in a narcissistic way, that is, embrace your faults and be able to pick yourself up and move on. It's only sexy when someone handles their business on their own, and with out the conceited bullshit attitude (Being INDEPENDENT & humble).

Moving on...
2.) Be smart - You don't have to be Einstein. However, at least try to educate yourself on daily basis. If you're just a drug addict with no brains, or that video gamer who plays games until the break of dawn, and so on, there's not much hope for you. If you got talent, dance, draw, etc. then live it with a passion and express yourself through those. Those count for knowledge.

3.) Personality - Don't lie. Liars fail immediately. Everything else can be worked with, as long as you have other attributes.

4.) Clingy - When you're looking, you're instantly in clingy mode. No one likes it, and in fact, it may be seen as creepy if you end up going too far.

5.) Work out, eat healthy, BE HEALTHY - Having good looks is something that has become important for the entire world. But it's a DUH thing, so I won't explain myself. Anyways, point is - you should always try to be as good looking as possible. If you're "ugly," you must be smoking, lacking sleep, or eating wrong. Acne? Take care of your skin via products and good hygiene. Otherwise, I don't think most guys out there have zero chance, it's just that they don't go about their looks the right way; however, it may be for the better, as trying to look good can be tedious too (Take it from me, this is from experience in losing 60lbs in 8 months time).
